In an effort to provide prompt service to those businesses devastated by the flood, we are making adjustments to our inventory levels and other aspects of the way we do business. We will be investing a great deal of our operating capital to support these changes.
Therefore, we will be dramatically tightening our credit and payment policies.
Please understand that by investing in additional inventories and resources we no longer have the ability to carry the financing on customer purchases.
We will offer the resources of third party finance companies for those customers who need to purchase on credit. All others are requested to make payment at the time of purchase, with a down payment required when placing special orders.
We hope you understand that while we are doing our best to support our customers in the supply, repair, and service of food service equipment and furnishings, the biggest threat to our ability to provide these services is getting stretched out on old or bad receivables.
We sincerely hope that our loyal customers who have enjoyed open lines of credit with STAR will understand the unique situation this disaster has created in our community.
